Recycling

Martham Parish Council promotes, as part of  its environmental strategy, the responsible recycling of waste wherever possible.

We earn recycling credits (money!) for glass, shoes, textiles and cans collected from the several recycling points in the Village. All the monies raised through this scheme are 'ring fenced' by us and directly benefits the village through investment in environmentally friendly projects like bulb planting and new trees etc.

Recycling in the village has been a tremendous success thanks to the many residents who deposit bottles, cans, shoes and textiles in the recycling bins. As a result, to date almost £11,000 has been raised for the benefit of the Parish.

We are continually seeking ways to invest this money in projects that directly benefit our village. Ideally these are community environmental projects and we would love to hear your ideas.

Please send your ideas about how this money could be put to good use to the Clerk.

Thanks again for all your help.

Using the recycling points

To help us promote these facilities could we please ask that you place glass, shoes and cans in the correct bins. We also urge you to take home all boxes and empty carrier bags and re-use them. This will help us to keep our village clean, tidy and safe for everyone.
