Since the 26th November 2004 the village has been broadband enabled. You may be able to get up to 8MB download speed.

Click on this link to find out what Broadband is all about.

The next step is to choose an ISP (Internet Service Provider) who deals in Broadband. Your existing ISP may already have this and you should contact them.

It may be worth comparing broadband prices and service levels by clicking this link.

Things to watch out for:

bulletContract cancellation times - some ISPs 'lock' you in for a year.
bulletIs your computer up to it? - If it is 4 years or so old then check very carefully that it will be able to handle broadband. Tell your ISP the computer specification and ask for an assurance that it will be OK.
bulletCheck out the deals ISPs are offering on setup fees and ADSL modems.
bulletDo you get email included?

Security

Once you have signed up for broadband, it is a MUST that you protect your machine.
Make sure you have up to date antivirus and antispyware packages and keep them updated. After all your connection is 'always on' so it will be costing you nothing to update on a daily basis.
