Irish and British Villages

Ivor Harwood writes:

"My interest stems from the fact that my grandparents Ben and Agnes Harwood lived in Norfolk House on the Green from 1909 to 1943. It was a branch of Clowes Stores and my grandfather managed this and the Rollesby shops having worked for the Clowes brothers in Yarmouth prior to 1909. My parents with my brother and myself occupied a house in Repps Road for a few years.

I have many photographs of events such as carnivals, Remembrance Day ceremonies, etc. and have attached a few samples which you may care to use.

My wife and I holiday in Sheringham each year and always make time to stop for lunch in Martham before moving on to Yarmouth where the family has its roots. My wife has often commented on the friendly nature of villagers.

Regards, Ivor Harwood"

Many thanks to Ivor for sending in these pictures of the village.
