Grouped Homes Car Park, Grove Road (off Black Street).

SHOE BANK:

Martham Parish Council is now able to gain 'Recycling Credits' (Money!) from Norfolk County Council against glass and shoes collected from the Village Car Park and Victoria Public House. All monies raised through this scheme will DIRECTLY benefit the village.

Using recycling Points

To help us promote these facilities could we please ask that you place glass, shoes, cans and paper in the correct bins. We also urge you to take home all empty carrier bags (re-use them!) and boxes etc., this will help us to keep our village clean, tidy and safe for everyone.

Caister Household Waste Recycling Centre

Ever been confused with the Depots opening times? I have...
The times approximate daylight hours and the depot is open all year
round, 7 days a week except Christmas day:

8am - 4pm January to February
8am - 6pm March
8am - 8pm April to August
8am - 7pm September
8am - 6pm October to end of British Summer Time (BST)
8am - 4pm End of BST to end of December

There are restrictions on who can take, what you can and cannot take and when you can take - I'll summarise:
Who
Any Norfolk resident from the dwelling they are living in, but not anyone who is being paid to provide a service. Charities or organisers of charitable events (e.g. jumble sales) cannot use the site, they should contact the Borough, who should provide a collection service.
What
You can take household waste from you own home. Use the separately marked containers there for recycling:

General waste (non recyclable)
Cans and other metals
Green, brown and clear glass
Textiles
Paper, magazines and cardboard
Green waste
Motor oil and batteries

They will not accept:

Other liquid waste
Hazardous waste (e.g. chemicals, asbestos, pesticides)
Clinical waste (e.g. medicines, soiled dressings, syringes, animal faeces)
Motor vehicles

If they will not accept your waste:

Re-use it in your house or garden or pass it on for re-use by others
Use a waste bag service available from DIY stores
Hire a skip
Take it to a commercial waste disposal site (contact them first)

When
A small quantity of DIY waste, the equivalent of one rubbish sack or one item (such as a door or a window) once a week.
