| Area of Policing | |
| From Caister, we police an area which stretches from Caister North along the B1159 Coast Road to West Somerton and then inland to Martham and on to the River Thurne at Potter Heigham. The river is then the boundary to Acle Bridge, where the River Bure becomes the southern boundary of the area back to Caister. See our website for further details here. |

I am one of twelve officers designated for this area. Martham falls within the Gt. Yarmouth Sector and I am supported by officers based at Gt. Yarmouth Police Station. |
|
| I also run a regular 'Surgery' at the CLIP in Martham where you can drop in for a chat with me. | |
|
You can contact me in
the following ways: |
| I would stress
these methods of contact are to reach me personally on a non-urgent basis
when I am on duty. If you require a more immediate Police response then contact should be made with our central control room on 0845 456 4567 If the matter is an emergency, use the 999 system. |
I have in the past attended house burglaries with a
garden theme - where the home owner was gardening but had left their
house unlocked and an opportunist had entered the house and stolen the
occupants handbag and more commonly when garden tools have been used to
force entry. With this in mind the following points may act as a useful
reminder:
|
Lock garden tools and equipment away in a shed or other store.
|
Lock doors when you are outside in the garden.
|
Encourage your children not to leave their bikes on the front lawn or driveway.
|
Screen windows in sheds so equipment is not on view.
|
Mark equipment with your postcode and house number or name. (This can be done quite overtly with garden equipment for which appearance does not matter). |
As ever I would encourage residents to report incidents of crime to me, so patrols can be directed in the areas that most require them.
Anti-Social
Traditionally the autumn is the time when incidents of anti-social behaviour increase in the village, as the nights draw in and a SMALL minority of youngsters in the village upset residents. I would urge residents to report such incidents on 0845 456 4567, if I am unaware, neither I nor my colleagues will be able to give problem areas the attention they deserve. I cannot guarantee that a Police Officer will be able to attend at the time of the problem, but the reports will help me to identify the problem areas and target my patrols accordingly. If you do not want the Police to call on you, tell the operator when you report such incidents, I can always contact you later by telephone to discuss the problem in more detail, or if you prefer to remain anonymous at least I will have some information on which to act.
