What is The Martham Carnival Community Grants Programme?
Martham
Carnival has been running for many years and has recently been donating proceeds
to the Air Ambulance. During 2006 the new Carnival committee members applied
for a Community Chest grant for £1000 to enable sustainability of the annual
carnival. Due to local consensus the committee were made aware that the local
people would like the monies raised to help groups and projects within the
village of Martham. It was agreed that any proceeds raised over the £1000 would
be distributed through a local grants panel set up from local people and this
was incorporated in their grant application. £2,200 profit has been donated for
these grants and there will be a one off payment.
The Martham Carnival Community grants Programme
is a fund which Voluntary and Community groups and organisations can use for
projects which help the local community of Martham.
